The State’s Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel (NDCAP) will meet for the second time on June 21st the Plymouth Public Library.
- WHAT: NDCAP, Meeting #2
- WHEN: June 21, 2017, 6:00-8:00 pm
- WHERE: Plymouth Public Library, 132 South St, Plymouth, MA 02360
NDCAP was established by legislation in 2016 to address the decommissioning of Entergy’s Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, due to permanently shut down by June 2019.
According to the meeting notice, the required minimum of 5 NDCAP members called the meeting. The group plans to organize, nominate a permanent Chair and Co-Chair, and determine which initial sub-committees to establish. However, at least eleven panel members will need to attend the meeting to fulfill this agenda and for official votes to take place.
The public will also have two chances to comment: 1) on the sub-committee ideas, which currently cover topics such as Pilgrim’s operations before shutdown, emergency preparedness, waste storage and management, safety, community involvement, economics, and government relations, and 2) on topics that should be covered at future meetings.
