In terms of air emissions, Canal Station’s new unit will rely on fracked gas and could result in methane leaks during the fracking and transportation process.

On Wednesday, February 8th at 7:00 pm at Sandwich Town Hall, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) will hold a public hearing addressing air emissions from the new gas-fired unit, which will cast a large carbon shadow for decades.

You can submit comments orally or in writing at the hearing, or you can submit written comments electronically to sero.air@state.ma.us.
