Earlier this week, we wrote about Pilgrim’s most recent valve problems. The plant is has been shut down since Dec. 17th due to leaks in three steam isolation valves. Similar valve problems occurred this past August.
The Union of Concerned Scientists just issued a “backgrounder” document on Pilgrim’s leaking main steam isolation valve problem — explaining what the valves do, where they are located, and what the problem is likely to be.
